Egg Dying and Cookie Decorating!

Yesterday we had so much fun with the egg dying and cookie decorating activities at playgroup. Colt's bud JJ came a little early and the two enjoyed drawing with some sidewalk chalk. This is one of Colt's new OBSESSIONS! He draws everything and then instructs me (or whomever) to draw for him! ("a truck, a purple truck" etc.) He also likes to draw all over himself with the chalk and lay on his belly to color on the ground (need to get a pic of this) - so he is usually just covered in chalk by the end of the day! Then JJ and him moved to the water table. They were enjoying scooping and pouring the water and then had fun giving each other sips of the water! It is so cute to watch these two together! Colt just loves JJ and his family and talks about them all the time. (Just one other note - when Colt got bored of pouring the water, he decided to climb into the water table and sit in it - yes, our boy gets into new things DAILY! This was a first!)
The egg dying was rather messy, as you could imagine, but a lot of fun. We taped the coloring cups to the table and the kids had a lot of fun dipping them into the different colors. I am amazed how kids this age know there colors!Colt wanted the full experience, of course, which wouldn't be complete without a taste of the egg dye (vinegar and all - YUCK!) - but he didn't mind. Here he is showing off his colored tongue!By this point, all the kiddos had worked up an appetite, so we cleaned up, got the cookies out and started decorating. And, a final shot of my little guy enjoying his cookie with BLUE frosting! Happy Easter, sweet boy!
