Cade at 16 Months!

This past week has been draining with both the boys sick, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to capture a few things from Cade at 16 months!  To sum Cade up in one word this month it would be MESS!!!  He is just a total mess and the messier he is, the better!  He loves life and is quite jovial, which has been one of the reasons it has been so hard for me to see him so sick the last two weeks with hand, foot, and mouth, then the stomach flu, then a horrible virus with a cough and high fever!  Poor baby, a sick baby is the worst!  So here are some fun notes from the month.

Cade with chocolate pudding...he got a cup from Colt's hand and look where it ended up...ALL over his face! :)  Just the way he likes it!
Invading the puzzles...he loves to take them all apart!
Little Gym - Cade loves class, the teacher, and BUBBLES!!!  He says bu-bu!  (That is him in the plaid shorts.)
Another new thing this month is he loves to shake his head "yes" and say "yeah" and "no."  He definitely communicates, but only has a handful of words still.  Another first is he cut his first tooth just last week!  Hooray!!!  He is abnormally late on this milestone!  On thing that is driving me crazy is he really will not eat solid foods!  He loves milk, juice, baby food squeezies, ice cream, pudding, and maybe some graham crackers and goldfish, but that is it.  Anything else we give him, he spits out!  Or, he will put it in his mouth, store it in his cheeks, and then spit it all out on you later, after you thought it was long gone to his stomach!  Oh well, I guess it is always something!  And, I have learned to relax, and know he probably won't go to college eating a liquid diet!  LOL!  He still loves to get up early (although I know getting sick isn't helping that), but he is so sweet and cuddly and gives kisses and hugs to mama, daddy, and brother all the time.  I have started incorporating Colt in our night-night routine with Cade and it is absolutely precious.  We go into Cade's room, Colt picks him out a night-night story, we read it to Cade, then Colt turns on his sound machine, star lights, and music cuddly, kisses Cade, and we lay him down.  The sweetest thing is when Cade giggles when Colt gives him kisses on his feet.  Gosh, sweet boy, we love you SO much!  It is such a relief to finally feel like we have gotten our routine with the two of you in a good place and that you all have come to love and depend on each other so much!  When Colt wakes in the morning, after yelling, "Mommy", the next thing he asks for is "BROTHER!!!"  - he loves to call you this and it is so sweet.  Cade, you are our jovial and loving gem and gift and, honestly, life would not be the same without you!

Much, much, much love,
Daddy, Mommy, Colty
