First, the little girl looks absolutely beautiful and perfect and seeing her face on the 3-D scan brought tears to my eyes...I really never in a million year thought we would be blessed with a precious girl!! It is a whole new experience for us, and the fact she looks healthy is just such an amazing blessing!! (She is Baby B).
The placentas are in GREAT spots, which I am so grateful for given my pregnancy with Colt and living with the fear of a complete previa from 14 to 38 weeks! And, with twins is poses even more problems, so praise God!!
The fluid levels look good, cervix length is good, and everything else they can tell at this point looks very promising. So, we pray these babies make it to 37 weeks!! Do you think it is possible?! The babies continue to measure large for their gestational age, which makes me feel better about this ever increasing belly!
The one minor concern is with the sweet baby boy! Our boy 3! He has some extra fluid building in one of his kidneys. It is minimally above "normal" and the doctor did say it will a lot of times resolve by the time of the birth...although they told me this same thing with the previa and it never did. He then told me it can be a soft marker for Down's Syndrome, although everything else with him looks perfect...heart, femur measurements, nuchel fold, and all the blood work. Also, this is a much more common problem in boys than girls. He did offer us an amnio to verify 100%, but told us we have an over 99% chance of the baby being perfectly healthy without the amnio. Kevin and I declined, knowing we will love this sweet baby regardless and the risks of having an amnio with twins this late in the pregnancy just are not worth it to me. We ask for your prayers that this issue does resolve on its own and that this sweet boy continues to grow and thrive!!
And, a comforting word to read today in the midst of this mostly good news is:
"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." (Phil. 4:6)eMore updates coming soon, as this surely will be a journey! :)
