Our one hiccup this week was with the breastfeeding. Colt had a great latch at the hospital, but our second day home he had a really hard time staying on and feeding. So, out of desperation, I sent Kevin out to rent a breast pump. We are now pumping and bottle feeding some and continue to practice the latch and feed, which he is doing much better with today. Using the bottle was really difficult for me, as I really wanted to try to exclusively breastfeed (without bottles) for the first month, but we are making do, and Colt is staying well nourished, which is the most important thing!
We also went to the pediatrician this week and all looks great. Colt was down to 7 lbs 4 ounces when we left the hospital, but is now back up to 7 pounds 7 ounces. We hope he regains to his birth weight of 7 lbs 15 ounces by next week's appointment at the pediatrician.
So, here are some pics from the week!!
